
Acetanilide, also known as antipyretic ice, is a sulfonamide drugs, rubber vulcanization accelerator, dyes and synthetic camphor and other raw materials and intermediates, cosmetics industry hydrogen peroxide stabilizer. The preparation of acetanilide in industry is generally directly synthesized by acetic acid and aniline. The single consumption of acetic acid is about 0.5, and the single consumption of aniline is about 0.75. As an effective antipyretic drug, acetanilide plays an important role in OTC drugs. It was used in large quantities in the manufacture of p-acetaminobenzene sulfonyl chloride during World War II. Acetanilide is also used to make thioacetamide, used in the production of catalysts, stabilizers, polymers, electroplating additives, photographic drugs, pesticides, dyeing additives and beneficiation agents. In the industry can be used as rubber vulcanization accelerator, fiber grease coating stabilizer, hydrogen peroxide stabilizer, and for the synthesis of camphor, but also used as a medium for penicillin G. As the previous generation of analgesic, antipyretic agent, because of its low toxicity, has been replaced by a new generation of acetyl drugs, such as acetaminophen, acetaminophen.
