On August 22nd, Air Liquide Group (France) announced that it has signed an agreement with Macquarie Asia Pacific Infrastructure Fund II to acquire DIG Airgas, a South Korean chemical enterprise. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
The proposed enterprise value of this acquisition is 2.85 billion euros (4.6 trillion won, approximately 23.7 billion yuan). Air Liquide stated that this acquisition represents a crucial strategic milestone for the company and will significantly enhance its market position in South Korea.
Founded in 1979, DIG Airgas is one of the largest industrial gas companies in South Korea. It has nearly 550 employees, 60 plants, and a 220-kilometer pipeline network. In 2024, its turnover reached 510 million euros (752 billion won).
It is reported that the enterprise value of DIG Airgas evaluated in this transaction is 2.85 billion euros / 4.6 trillion won, equivalent to 20.2 times its 2024 EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization).
