Adiponitrile is a colorless, oil-like liquid, which is the raw material for the production of adiponitrile. It can also be used in rubber accelerators, rust prevention agents, detergent additives, spinning solvents for ternary copolymers, and other textile additives. Up to now, China's adiponitrile basically relies on imports, resulting in high raw material costs, long order cycle, transportation difficulties, and raw material prices are seriously controlled by foreign manufacturers. Due to the lack of core technology, the economic benefits of enterprises are reduced and the nylon industry chain products lack market competitiveness. Therefore, the localization of adiponitrile is imperative, and many domestic enterprises and research institutions are actively studying and exploring localization technology.
At present, there are three main industrial production processes of adipdinitrile: catalytic process of adipate ammonia, electrolytic dimerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene cyanide. At present, butadiene method has the advantages of short process route, cheap and easy to obtain raw materials, mild reaction conditions, high product yield, low energy consumption, little pollution, etc. The comprehensive cost is lower than adipic acid method and acrylonitrile electrolytic dimerization method, which is the most advanced production process in the world. However, this production process is difficult, and requires supporting raw material hydrocyanic acid production equipment, and the requirements for a single investment and production scale are relatively high, at present, only two foreign companies in the world have achieved large-scale industrialization.
At present, many domestic enterprises "adiponitrile" projects have been launched, although the process is different, but the goal is the same. Among them: 250,000 tons of "butadiene cyanide" adiponitrile production capacity is coming into operation; 100,000 tons of "adipic acid process" production capacity has been normal operation, and there are still 200,000 tons of production capacity in the later stage. Domestic adiponitrile, out of the siege, to achieve mass production, at present, the victory is in sight.
It is expected that by 2025, adiponitrile is expected to fulfill the production capacity of 1.515 million tons/year. At that time, it will not only drive the demand for about 750,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, but also drive the rapid growth of the nylon 66 industry.
