On September 20th, the mechanical completion of the Tianjin Scientific Test Base Project of Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) was achieved.
It is reported that with a total investment of over 1 billion yuan, the project is located in the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area (TEDA). Covering an area of approximately 300 mu (about 200,000 square meters) and with a total construction area of around 70,000 square meters, the project will construct 4 scientific research pilot platforms (focused on low-carbon oil-chemical integration, high-end carbon materials, hydrogen energy and electrochemistry, and resource recycling) as well as 2 pilot production bases (for special lubricating oils and greases, and petroleum products). It is expected to be fully completed in 2025.

According to the person in charge of Sinopec Fourth Construction Company, since the project broke ground, in the face of natural challenges such as concentrated rainy seasons and extreme summer heat, as well as construction difficulties including dense regional layout and crisscrossing underground pipelines, all parties involved in the construction have pooled their efforts in the spirit of "one family with one heart, one goal with one drive". They have realized the full commissioning of water, electricity, gas and compressed air systems and the connection of the entire process, and all main units have fully entered the final completion and commissioning preparation stage. At present, the project construction is progressing steadily and orderly, with safety, quality and schedule under overall control, and the scheduled tasks have been successfully completed.
