CDA use of cyclohexanone
1,1 cyclohexyldiacetic acid (CDA) is a pharmaceutical intermediate, prepared from cyclohexanone, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and used as an intermediate of the drug gabapentin.
Process introduction: CDA preparation process is complex, the reaction steps are many, acetic acid through chlorine gas under the action of acetic anhydride catalyst to prepare chloroacetic acid, chloroacetic acid and cyclohexanone reaction to prepare CDA, cyclohexanone consumption is about 0.5.
There are only two domestic CDA devices, a total of 9 thousand tons/year, the production capacity can almost meet the global use, CDA mainly exported to India, CDA to prepare CAM, the next step can be used to prepare anti-epileptic drugs. At present, due to the lack of domestic production capacity of anti-epileptic drugs due to intellectual property issues, epilepsy occurs in people of any age, region and ethnicity, but the incidence is higher in children and adolescents. According to the latest epidemiological data in China, the overall prevalence of epilepsy in China is 7.0‰, the annual incidence is 28.8/100,000, and the prevalence of active epilepsy within 1 year is 4.6‰. According to this estimate, there are about 9 million epilepsy patients in China, of which 5 to 6 million are active epilepsy patients, while the annual increase of epilepsy patients is about 400,000, so the demand for anti-epileptic drugs is stable, there is no alternative to such anti-epileptic drugs, it is predicted that the future demand for CDA is stable, and the demand for cyclohexanone is relatively stable.
