Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material, which is the main intermediate in the manufacture of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as for paints, especially those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymers and their copolymers or methacrylate polymers. Excellent solvent for pesticides such as organophosphorus insecticides and many analogues, as a solvent for dyes, as a viscous solvent for piston-type aviation lubricants, as a solvent for grease, wax and rubber. It is also used as a homogenizing agent for dyeing and fading silk, a degreasing agent for polishing metal, and a coloring and painting agent for wood. Cyclohexanone and cyanoacetic acid are condensed to produce cyclohexylideneacetic acid, which is then eliminated and decarboxylated to cyclohexenethonitrile, and finally hydrogenated to cyclohexenethamine [3399-73-3], which is an intermediate of the drugs calmetzer and temalen.

Method Of Storage And Transportation
Storage Precautions Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. The storage temperature should not exceed 37℃. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants and reducing agents, and should not be mixed. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Do not use mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to spark. The storage area should be equipped with leak emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
Protective Measures
First, leakage emergency treatment
Quickly evacuate the personnel from the contaminated area to the safety zone, isolate them, and strictly restrict access. Cut off the fire. Emergency personnel are advised to wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and fire protective clothing. Cut off the source of leakage as much as possible to prevent entering the sewer, flood drainage ditch and other restricted Spaces. Small amount of leakage: adsorption or absorption with sand or other non-combustible materials. It can also be washed with a lot of water and diluted into the waste water system. A large number of leaks: build a embankment or dig a pit to contain;Cover with foam to reduce steam hazards. Transfer to a tank truck or special collector with an explosion-proof pump for recycling or transport to a waste disposal site.
Second, protective measures
