It is insoluble in water, but easily soluble in benzene, ethyl ether, gasoline,diesel oil and other organic solvents. It can't react with acid, alkali and ultraviolet. Chemically it is stable, and decomposes at 400℃.

Ferrocene can be used as a rocket fuel additive, an antiknock agent for gasoline, a curing agent for rubber and silicone resins, and a UV absorber. Method Of Storage And Transportation
