Isopropanol (IPA), also known as 2-propanol, is an organic compound, chemical formula is C3H8O, is an isomer of n-propanol, colorless transparent liquid, like the smell of ethanol and acetone mixture, soluble in water, also soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and other most organic solvents.

Packaging and Shipping Information
Primary flammable liquid. Keep sealed. It should be packed in 150Kg drums in a cool and ventilated special warehouse, away from fire sources, and stored and transported in accordance with the regulations on flammable chemicals.
Operation and Storage
Operation precautions: airtight operation, full ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly follow the operating rules. It is recommended that operators wear filter type gas mask (half mask), safety protective glasses, anti-static work clothes, and latex gloves. Stay away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation systems and equipment. Prevent steam leakage into the workplace air. Avoid contact with oxidants, acids and halogen. When filling, the flow rate should be controlled, and there is a grounding device to prevent static electricity accumulation. Handling should be carried lightly to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with the corresponding variety and quantity of fire equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. An empty container may remain hazardous.
Storage precautions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Stay away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30℃. Keep the container sealed. Should be stored separately from oxidant, acid, halogen, etc., avoid mixed storage. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. Prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to spark. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate storage materials.
Application
1, as chemical raw materials, can produce acetone, hydrogen peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, diisobutyl ketone, isopropyl amine, isopropyl ether, isopropyl chloride and fatty acid isopropyl ester and isopropyl chloride fatty acid, etc. In fine chemicals, it can be used in the production of isopropyl nitrate, isopropyl xanthate, triisopropyl phosphite, isopropyl alcohol aluminum and pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and can also be used in the production of diisoacetone, isopropyl acetate and thymol and gasoline additives.
2. As a solvent, it is a relatively cheap solvent in industry. It has a wide range of uses. It can also be used as antifreezing agent, cleaning agent, additive of blending gasoline, dispersing agent of pigment production, fixative of printing and dyeing industry, antifogging agent of glass and transparent plastic, etc., used as diluent of adhesive, and also used as antifreezing agent, dehydrating agent, etc.
