N-propanol, also known as 1-propanol, is an organic compound with a simple structure of CH3CH2CH2OH, a molecular formula of C3H8O, and a molecular weight of 60.10. At room temperature and pressure, n-propanol is a transparent colorless liquid with a strong musty smell similar to rubbing alcohol. It is soluble in water, ethanol and ether. Generally from ethylene through carbonyl synthesis of malondialdehyde, and then by reduction. N-propanol can replace ethanol with lower boiling point as solvent and can also be used for chromatographic analysis.

N-propanol is listed in the List of Hazardous Chemicals and controlled in accordance with the Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals.

Product Purpose

1. N-propanol is commonly used for organic synthesis. N-propanol can be used for nitro spray paint, cosmetics, dental detergents, insecticides, fungicides, inks, plastics, antifreeze synthesis and intermediates, such as synthesis of propyl acetate, which can be used for coating solvents, printing inks, etc. All kinds of esters synthesized from phase n-propanol can also be used as food additives, plasticitizers, spices (the ingredients used in the preparation of spices shall not exceed the maximum allowable usage and maximum allowable residue in GB 2760) and many other aspects;

2. N-propanol is used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce benzenecid, sodium valproate, erythromycin, epilepsy, adhesive hemostatic BCA, propanthiamine, 2, 5-pyridine dimethylate, n-propylamine, etc.

3. Derivatives of n-propanol, especially din-propylamine, have many applications in pesticide production, such as the production of pesticide amine sulphonamide, isopropyl trimethoprene, Miquomeng, sulphonamide, fluorex and so on.

4. N-propanol can be used as analytical reagents, such as solvents, chromatographic reagents, and chromatographic reagents. N-propanol can be used directly as a solvent, in many cases can replace the lower boiling point of ethanol, such as plant oils, natural rubber and resin, some synthetic resins and ethyl cellulose, polyethylene butyral solvent.
