
Polyether polyol (polyether for short) is an organic polymer, which is prepared by the addition of starting agent (compound containing active hydrogen group) and ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO), ethylene oxide butane (BO) in the presence of catalyst. The maximum yield of polyether is to use glycerol (glycerin) as the starting agent and epoxide (generally PO and EO are used), by changing the feeding mode of PO and EO (mixed or separate), dosage ratio, feeding order and other conditions, to produce a variety of general polyether polyols.

Product Purpose
1, detergent or defoaming agent
L61, L64, F68 for the preparation of low foaming, high detergency synthetic detergent; L61, L81 used as defoaming agent in papermaking or fermentation industry; F68 is used as an antifoaming agent during blood circulation in the artificial heart-lung machine to prevent air from entering.
2. Excipient and emulsifier
Polyether has low toxicity and is often used as drug excipients and emulsifiers. It is often used in mouth, nasal sprays, eye and ear drops, and shampoos.
3. Wetting agent
Polyethers are effective wetting agents that can be used in acid baths for dyeing fabrics, photographic development and electroplating, and in sugar factories using F68, more sugar can be obtained due to the increased permeability of water.
4. Antistatic agent
Polyethers are useful antistatic agents, and L44 provides long-lasting electrostatic protection against synthetic fibers.
5. Dispersing agent
Polyether is used as a dispersant in emulsion coatings. F68 acts as an emulsifier when the vinyl acetate emulsion is polymerized. L62, L64 can be used as pesticide emulsifier, coolant and lubricant in metal cutting and grinding. It is used as a lubricant when rubber is vulcanized.
6. Demulsifier
Polyether can be used as demulsifier of crude oil, L64, F68 can effectively prevent the formation of hard scale in oil pipelines, and used for secondary oil recovery.
7, paper additives
Polyether can be used as paper additive, F68 can effectively improve the quality of coated paper; Also used as a bleaching aid.
8. Preparation and application
Polyether polyol series products are mainly used to prepare rigid polyurethane foam plastics, which are widely used in refrigerators, freezers, refrigerated vehicles, heat insulation boards, pipe insulation and other fields. The obtained product has low thermal conductivity and good dimensional stability, which is also an important raw material for the preparation of composite polyethers. The production of polyether polyols is mainly used in polyurethane foam plastics in the polyurethane industry, and the main varieties are polypropylene oxide polyols and polytetrahydrofuran ether polyols.
